Mary:
The Conception of Christ
I thought I was doing something new, but when I researched
it after the fact, I found out that the conception was a
popular theme in Medieval art. They usually portrayed a
vulture (symbol of the wind and of fertility) and showed the
wind blowing up Mary's skirt.
I portray the Holy Spirit as wind, which turns Mary's hair
to spun gold as it blows over her.
It seems there is nothing new under the sun...
